To ensure the protection of our patients, personnel and visitors—especially those who may be part of a vulnerable population, such as the elderly or those with chronic illnesses. All PCR testing will be conducted outside of the building . On the day of your test , please park in the parking lot located in the back of our building and stay in your car . Our pharmacist will be outside conducting the tests , you do not need to leave your car .
Your results will be available after 1-7 days , we will send you an email on the day we receive your results , you can also check your results online

We have limited spots every day , and limited time window to perform the tests , usually for 1 hour between 4-6 pm , If you need to testing outside this window , we offer At-home Self collection test kits for PCR .
You must include your health card and your version code ( the 2 letters after the number ) on your form .
If you have an investigation no. or an outbreak no. , you must include it on your form .
individuals that are eligible for PCR testing ( New Criteria )
Testing Eligibility Symptomatic people who fall into one of the following groups:
- Hospitalized patients
- Patients seeking emergency medical care, at the discretion of the treating clinician
- Patient-facing healthcare workers
- Staff, volunteers, residents/inpatients, essential care providers, and visitors in hospitals and congregate living settings, including Long-Term Care, retirement homes, First Nation elder care lodges, group homes, shelters, hospices, temporary foreign worker settings, and correctional institutions
Symptomatic outpatients for whom COVID-19 treatment is being considered:
- includes those aged 70 years or older who have a risk factor including obesity (BMI ≥30), dialysis or stage 5 kidney disease (eGFR <15 mL/min/1.73 m2), diabetes, cerebral palsy, intellectual disability of any severity, sickle cell disease, receiving active cancer treatment, solid organ or stem cell transplant recipients, or aged 50 years or older if First Nations, Inuit, or Métis with any of those risk factors
- Symptomatic people who are underhoused or homeless
- Symptomatic elementary and secondary students and education staff who have received a PCR self-collection kit through their school.
- Symptomatic/asymptomatic people who are from First Nation, Inuit, and Métis communities and individuals travelling into these communities for work
- Symptomatic /asymptomatic people on admission/transfer to or from hospital or congregate living setting
- High risk contacts and asymptomatic/symptomatic people in the context of confirmed or suspected outbreaks in highest risk4 settings, including hospitals, long-term care, retirement homes, other congregate living settings and institutions, and other settings as directed by the local public health unit
- Individuals, and one accompanying caregiver, with written prior approval for out-of-country medical services from the General Manager, OHIP
- Asymptomatic testing in hospital, long-term care, retirement homes and other congregate living settings and institutions as per provincial guidance and/or Directives, or as directed by public health units
It continues to be recommended that anyone who is symptomatic and working in a high risk setting should avoid work for 10 days from the onset of symptoms. IF Rapid Antigen Test is available, these individuals can return to work on day 7 from the date of symptom onset or positive molecular test. They would need two consecutive negatives Rapid Antigen Test’s at least 24 hours apart and their symptoms have been improving for at least 24 hours.
For symptomatic individuals outside of high risk settings who are ineligible for a PCR or rapid molecular test they are advised to self isolate. For fully vaccinated individuals or for a child under 12 years of age they should self isolate for at least 5 days from symptom onset and until their symptoms have been improving for 24 hours. If the individual is not fully vaccinated and is 12 years and older or if they are immune compromised they should self isolate for 10 days from symptom onset.
The symptoms include:
- Fever and/or chills; OR
- Cough; OR
- Shortness of breath; OR
- Decrease or loss of taste of smell; OR
- Two of more of:
- Runny nose/nasal congestion
- Headache
- Extreme fatigue
- Sore throat
- Muscle aches/joint pain
- GI symptoms
You are not eligible for free diagnostic testing if you are seeking testing:
- as part of a vaccine policy or mandate
- to satisfy a travel requirement, unless you are a temporary foreign worker returning to your country of origin or are travelling into and out of remote/isolated First Nation and Indigenous communities for work purposes
- for entry to a private venue, event or gathering which requires a negative test result to enter
Private COVID-19 tests, such as those needed for outbound international travel, are available for purchase throughout Ontario.
